ON ANONYMOUS & NEGATIVE COMMENTS

I welcome comments on any of my entries, as long as they are owned, signed, polite and respectful. I don't post anonymous messages because I believe we should all stand behind what we say. I don't post negative and hateful words because I don't want to be part of that energy. Thanks for helping me carry that task along.
"Hope is not blind optimism. It's not ignoring the enormity of the task ahead, or the roadblocks that stand in our path. It's not sitting on the sidelines or shirking from a fight. Hope is that thing inside us that insists, despite all the evidence to the contrary, that something better awaits us if we have the courage to reach for it, work for it, and fight for it."

"MUSIC"

Let me go wher'er I will
I hear a sky-born music still:
It sounds from all things old,
It sounds from all things young;
From all that's fair, from all that's foul,
Peals out in a cheerful song.
It is not only in the rose,
It is not only in the bird,
Not only where the rainbow glows,
Nor in the song of women heard,
But in the darkest, meanest things
There always, always something sings.
'Tis not in the high stars alone,
Nor in the cups of budding flowers,
Nor in the redbreast's mellow tone,
Nor in the bow that smiles in showers,
But in the mud and scum of things,
There always, always,
something sings.

--Emerson

PONDER THIS

"Our thoughts create our reality. The stronger meaning of such a statement is that we are indeed co-creators of our world and that ultimate cause is to be sought not in the physical, but in consciousness."

ECO-FRIENDLY ANTI-ROACH RECIPE: IT WORKS

I hate IPIS. For them, I show no mercy, but I can't use anything toxic. Here's a recipe I found on The Green Guide:

1 cup borax
1/2 cup flour
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1/2 cup ground oats

Mix it up and put small amounts on cardboard in strategic areas (these monsters love dark, damp places and they love paper). This really works. Goodbye ipis!

EMBRACE THIS

Shirk not these life crises, hard and difficult
though they appear to be.
Difficult they are.
Forget not that the habit of confronting crisis
is a long established one
within the consciousness of the human race.
Man has the habit of crises, if I may say.
They are only the points of examination
as to strength of purpose, purity and motive,
and the intent of soul.
They evoke confidence when surmounted,
and produce greatly expanded vision.
They foster compassion and understanding,
for the pain and conflict they engender
are never forgotten,
for they draw upon the resources of the heart.
They release the light of wisdom
within the field of knowledge
and the world is thereby enriched.

--Alice Bailey

DON'T DOUBT IT

It is a matter especially of cultivating this courage and this fearlessness in the inmost depth of the mental life. The disciple must learn never to despair. He must be equal to the thought - "I will forget that I have again failed in this matter. I will try once more as though nothing at all has happened." Thus he will fight his way on to the firm conviction that the Universe contains an inexhaustible fountain of strength from which he may drink. He must aspire again and again to the Divine, which will uplift and support him, however feeble and impotent the mortal part of his being may prove. He must be capable of pressing on towards the future, undismayed by experiences of the past.

--Rudolf Steiner

LIVE IT

Until one is committed there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans; that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then providence moves too. Events issue from the decision, raising in one's favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meeting and material assistance, which no man could have dreamt would have come his way. I learned a deep respect for one of Goethe's couplets: "Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it."
